Since the Celts have brought the Chouchenn in Brittany, the recipe has not changed. It is a witness of the druid heritage in our region. The ingredients needed for the chouchenn l’Héritage des Druides are : Water from the distillery’s spring, honey from different locations to refine the taste and some yeast for the fermentation.
The « chouchenn » is the Breton name for « hydromel ». Traditionnaly, Bretons used to add fresh apple juice to launch the fermentation. Our traditional making process garanty the chouchen’s authenticity and the taste of the chouchenn, our Breton roots and its country.
To create this chouchenn, we have selected the best organic honeys coming from mountains and forests. It offers rich flavours with elegant floral notes, and then involves with a honey taste.
Rond, suave, it is soft whithout being too sweet. Its finish is soft with a delicate acid note to vivid the end.
